Janice’s works of art are inspired by the beauty in God’s creation. Painting en plein air (in the open air) brings her a deeper connection to the landscape which enables her to capture the essence of a scene on site. She then brings these studies to her studio to develop larger paintings. These experiences, she notes, help her to interpret photos more accurately with regard to light, shadow, perspective, color and value.

 

The artist travels to destinations near and far for inspiration which brings richness and adventure to her paintings. She’s passionate about painting outdoors, especially along coastal waters. One look at how she captures the crashing waves, endless horizon, swaying sea oats, and ocean birds in flight, and we are transported to an instant vacation.

Janice finds great joy in creating works of art that remind us of happy places and elevate our senses. Her hope is to encourage collectors to think and feel through her works of art.
